The average daily rate for a hotel room in Washington DC is $315, a close second only to New York as the nation’s most expensive. For that amount, you will get a nice room at a good hotel with some amenities. But it won’t be the best room, nor even close to it. For those who are more discerning, Washington DC has a few deluxe landing pads that would cause jaws to drop open for most people. These luxury suites are marketed to heads of state, celebrities and the wealthy whose names nobody would recognize. As the nation’s political hub, Washington DC regularly plays host to world leaders, and they require luxury. Here are a few deluxe suites we’ve found that fit the bill for the DC high rollers:

Warm woods and soft colors invite guests in to the oversized parlor with its huge marble fireplace. The adjacent dining room has seating for 10 with its own pantry. The suite features two oversized bedrooms with private dressing areas and fog free mirrors in the Italian marble bathrooms that boast deep Jacuzzi soaking tubs. A large outside terrace runs nearly the length of the suite and overlooks 22nd Street. A guest powder room is located in the large marble entry foyer. Privacy and security were paramount in its design, and it features a closed circuit camera system and bullet resistant glass on all windows. Guests enter the foyer with a ceiling of embedded Swarovski crystals which sparkle down on the polished tile floors, and it only gets better from there.
