Commercial airlines have long been the primary mode of travel for business people and jet setters. Unfortunately this mode of travel gets worse with each passing year. An industry that used to be primarily based on customer service has since become all about the bottom line and people are quite honestly fed up with the entire process.
Fees for flying commercially have simply gotten out of control and for those who enjoyed some of the discount fares of the past there are so many extra charges now they start to make you wonder if you shouldn’t just buy your own private jet or at the very least hire a private jet charter to get you where you want to go. There are fees for everything from checked luggage to security fees and the list goes on and on. For an industry that keeps cutting back on its services it seems a bit preposterous that they keep overcharging for every thing they do give you which quite frankly isn’t much.
And if you have ever tried to change your reservation you have probably very quickly noticed how they take the entire cost of your airfare away during the transfer, making it simpler to search for another flight on your own as opposed to changing your reservation. It actually winds up costing you less to ditch your ticket and start over then it does to switch your reservation. The whole thing is a bit more like a comedy skit then a business transaction.
In any case, you can continue to try and find a flight that suits you or you can consider a new mode of air travel. Private charter jets work well to get you where you want to go and at least flying in this way you get what you are paying for. It may cost a little more but in return you get everything you want and nothing you don’t. It is truly becoming the only way to fly.
