For the discriminating traveler who is tired of mediocre extended stay hotels, a dream will soon come true just around the corner from Rodeo Drive when the AKA Beverly Hills opens on October 1st. AKA is well known for their high end luxury extended stay residences with properties in New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC. They’re currently redeveloping a 2006 Beverly Hills apartment complex with a $10 million facelift. This will be their first West Coast property and it comes with a twist: Extended stay in this case becomes minimum stay. Guests will be required to commit to spending at least $12,000 to check in for a minimum 30 night stay with rates beginning at $400 per night. Operators say their ideal preferred length of visit will be three or four months.
The concept is designed for travelers who will be in town too long for a hotel and not long enough for a property lease. The property will have 88 luxuriously furnished one and two bedroom suites starting at 850 square feet, all with gourmet kitchens featuring high end appliances. Twelve townhouse units will be developed into flex space, designed to the whim of the guests, for gyms, studios or office space for an additional charge. A restaurant and bar is planned, and a fully equipped fitness center is under construction adjacent to the new public space. And an onsite dry cleaner and laundry with same day valet service means that guests won’t even have to leave the property if they don’t want to.
An onsite concierge will be available 24/7 to score a table at Spago (which shares the alley) or to arrange a limo or even a Zipcar. AKA’s calling card is their high quality personalized service, so whether it is show tickets, salon appointments or personal shopping requests, their team has a time honored reputation for excellence.
It is expected that the new property will be the chosen landing pad for the film and entertainment industry as well as those in between real estate transactions or even those remodeling. As with all of their properties, AKA assures that privacy and anonymity will be respected and protected. We understand that concept, as we’re guided by the same rules at Private Jets Charter.
