With only a few weeks left in the season, we’re reminded of what a great spring and summer we’ve had here at Private Jets Charter. Our clientele is a healthy mix of those doing business travel and leisure travel, and the warm weather always brings a boost in the leisure segment. Our pilots fly literally from one end of the world to the other and it is always interesting to consider where we will go next. We thought you’d like to see what our top destinations have been this season. Interestingly, they are not obscure places as many would think. Some are large cities, some are popular hot spots. And a few are lesser known by the masses, yet popular in their own regions. Take a look at the places we’ve served most often this spring and summer, in no particular order.
Dubai– Known for its excellent tourist services and facilities, Dubai is the most modern and progressive place in the UAE. It is home to the must-visit 160 story Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world at 828m (2716 ft). Travelers go to Dubai for the shopping, luxurious hotels, exciting nightlife and world renowned restaurants. Even though the weather in summer does get a little hot, it continues to be a preferred destination for travelers. Private Jets Charter has an office in Dubai with a top notch concierge team and we know Dubai and the region well when you’re ready to go.
Las Vegas – People love Vegas for the shows, the dazzling lights, the terrific restaurants and of course, the gambling. As the convention capital of the U.S., Las Vegas has plenty of experience in pleasing large crowds and making it very easy for you to spend your money. And also lose it in the casinos. For those who want to stray off the Vegas Strip, we always recommend grabbing a helicopter tour of the nearby Hoover Dam to for a close-up view of this massive 726 ft tall architectural marvel which harnesses the source of 90% of Las Vegas’ water.
London– While the Queen has been holding court from Buckingham Palace, charter jet travel to London this spring and summer has been especially brisk. Of course, the Summer Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee sparked extra interest this year, but London’s always a great ticket in any year. Outdoor activities and events abound during the summer season and the city seems to take on a different air, with a subtle spark in the step and a smile on the face. Our London office crew reports that in addition to a huge influx of air travelers, London docks have become the summer home to at least 10 superyachts from around the world. Who doesn’t love London?
Amalfi Coast of Italy – Once they go, they always go again. An enduring favorite travel spot for those who’ve been, it is still possible to get lost and blend in with crowds for those wanting anonymity. Positano is the most well known village, but there are plenty of spectacular towns adjacent along the coast. The scenery is stunning and not a bit of space is wasted with buildings and villas built straight up the mountainside, hanging on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea. The Isle of Capri is just offshore and also part of this popular destination region. We usually fly to nearby Naples and either helicopter in or arrange for a limousine for the winding scenic coastal drive.
Dalmatian Coast, Croatia – Since its recognition as an independent state in 1992, Croatia has been on the travel radar of the adventurous, the curious, and the celebrity world. Often called the new Riviera, it has become one of the go-to places for those who want something different without having to rough it. Our bookings this summer have concentrated around Dubrovnik and Split, with many clients choosing to continue on to nearby islands. Hvar Island is the one that gets the most attention, and is a short journey from the mainland. Considered one of the world’s top 10 most beautiful islands, it has become the spot to visit in the Adriatic. Known for its ancient 4th century BC history as well as its aromatic rosemary and lavender fields, Hvar boasts top quality lodging, food and entertainment. Across from the boot of Italy, the Dalmatia region of Croatia has great weather, beautiful scenery, and is a place where you can still enjoy a sense of discovery. Hurry.
French Riviera – Monaco. Nice. Cannes. Need we say more? These hot spots are all next to one another and are always popular with travelers. The spectacular Cote d’Azur affords the partying set the ability to do a little luxury shopping in the morning and play in the clubs by night. With some tanning time mixed in of course. The French Riviera is always one of our top charter jet destinations and traffic continues to grow. There’s gambling in Monaco, shopping in Cannes on La Croisette, and tanning on the beach in Nice. Our pilots are there so often, they know the fueling attendants by name.
Miami-Ft. Lauderdale – Miami is a favorite destination of jetsetters the world over and South Beach district is the center of the action. Home to the largest Cuban American population in the US, Miami is known for its vibrant Latin culture. Whether in architecture, food, music or art, the Cuban influence has built Miami into the bustling city it is today. Outstanding weather year round is a big draw, as trade winds keep hot temperatures down in the summer months and winters are warm enough that almost nobody even owns a sweater. One of our Private Jets Charter booking offices is there and we do love Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, so we were not surprised this made the list.
Martha’s Vineyard – The villagers on this laid back little Massachusetts island colony are used to celebrities in their midst and they normally pay them no mind except to maybe greet them good morning. And that is the allure that brings celebrities to the Vineyard in flocks. Being able to move about and interact with locals without a lot of attention is a rarity. Located just off the Cape Cod peninsula, this is the place to walk on the beach, read a book, eat world class food and sleep in the finest seaside inn. While not known for rousing nightlife, local bars are the best place to meet the locals or to rub shoulders with the famous. And you might even get to see a President.
We never know exactly where our passengers will take us. Was your favorite place on the list?
