The commercial airline industry has been a front runner for many years and in the area of air travel has become what people perceive as the only way to fly. Are the commercial airlines even close to what they were years ago? Well, surely most people would agree that the answer is no.
Overtime the commercial airlines have slacked off on customer service. Most claim that this is just a sign of the times and the fact that security has had to become so much tighter but really what does that have to do with being polite? Honestly, not much. You can be secure and polite simultaneously but perhaps no one told them that.
Taking out all the perks is another thing that shocks most people who haven’t flown in many years. Meals are gone, snacks are minimal, and now you even have to pay for those headsets that were free. They used to at least let you check your bags for free but those days are long gone too.
For a while, however, people were tolerating the lack of extras for the lower airfares that were being provided by some of the major carriers. However, those carriers that weren’t discount were losing business so they chose to do away with those cheaper carriers like Air South that used to offer discounted and affordable rates all the time. Where did all the discount airlines go to?
Now even those carriers that consider themselves to be discount ones have high rates quite often and also have such limited service to many areas of the world that they are just about useless to anyone who is traveling. And as far as service goes that is essentially gone from all airlines when you are traveling domestically.
It is no wonder that the private jet charter industry has been able to sneak in and take some business away from the failing commercial airline industry. After all, their prices aren’t that good, their service is atrocious, and they make you get on and off planes like kids on the monkey bars. What will become of the commercial airline industry down the road? Well, this remains to be seen but one thing is for certain as more individuals learn about their ability to charter a flight and travel with ease to their chosen destination, chances are the commercial carriers will begin losing business in leaps and bounds.
