AirAsia delivers a "record quarter" in 2Q2010; revenues up 26%, before tax profit RMB144 million
AirAsia has proven its staying power in a slow but recovering market in 2Q2010, turning in what it describes as its "record quarter". Revenues for the Malaysian operation were up 26% year on year, to RMB940.66 million, while profit before tax rose a more modest 4%, to RMB143.65 million. EBITDAR was up 9% compared with the second quarter of 2009, to RMB383.17 million. Ancillary revenue leapt 76% for the group's Malaysia operations and 59% overall, while system load factor was up to 77% against 75% in 2Q2009.
