650 million engines need autogas

The GAfuels Blog is written by two private pilots concerned about the future availability of fuels for piston-engine aircraft: Dean Billing, Sisters, Ore., an expert on autogas and ethanol, and Kent Misegades, Cary, N.C., an aerospace engineer, aviation sales rep for U-Fuel, and president of EAA1114. The latest newsletter of the Aviation Fuel Club includes an article written by GAfuels blogger Kent Misegades that compares the size of the piston GA fleet to the number of gasoline engines in the US that are negatively affected by the presence of ethanol, around 650 million, according to an article appearing in Fleet Management. Airports with autogas that are willing to sell to others stand to dramatically increase fuel sales due to the general difficulty in finding ethanol-free fuels these days. Continue Reading »
