NAV CANADA New collective bargaining signed with air traffic controllers
Canadian air traffic controllers have ratified a new collective agreement with Canadian air navigation service provider, NAV CANADA, bringing to a close what has been a reasonably amicable collective bargaining phase. Negotiations began in Dec-2010 and were wrapped up over Jul/Aug-2011, notably without the aggressive posturing that has marked air traffic controller collective bargaining in Europe over recent years. Germany and Finland have both narrowly avoided strikes in recent weeks, but only by going to independent arbitration.
