CAI helps lead Singapore Changi out of the economic doldrums

Singapore had a tough time in 2009, and was one of the Asia Pacific region’s weaker performing economies. Singapore Airlines (SIA) was at one stage heading for a full year loss and its situation impacted on Changi Airport, though both SIA’s passenger traffic and cargo volume have since picked up. Through all this, Changi Airport, now part of the ‘Changi Airport Group’ since Jul-2009 as a result of the corporatisation of Singapore Changi Airport, has continued to rise to the challenge of economic recession, boosting its foreign management and investment activities through the Changi Airports Internatonal (CAI) division.
