Oregon’s Troutdale Airport recently got some positive press in the local newspaper, The Gresham Outlook.
The story details the airport’s successes, noting there’s “considerably more to the facility near the mouth of the Sandy River than meets the eye.”
The story notes the 85-year old airport is one of Oregon’s 10 busiest airports; home to 25 businesses and 194 aircraft; home base of the U.S. Forest Service’s firefighting tanker; and a key selling point in marketing nearby property — among the last large available swaths around Portland — for large-scale commercial and industrial development.
“If that fails to impress, then ponder that the 5,400-foot runway in recent years has welcomed celebrities no less luminescent than actor Morgan Freeman and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr — OK, and Larry the Cable Guy — to Oregon.”
